What is DRMC?
The Disaster Resilient Museums Committee (ICOM DRMC) is the ICOM International Committee founded in 2019.
Its mission is to serve museums globally as an effective, inspiring, instrumental, and cooperative interdisciplinary platform about emergency preparedness and disaster response.
Its vision focuses on museum staff prepared to assist their home institutions and surrounding communities in the event of a disaster.
ICOM DRMC strives to be:
- collaborative with other ICOM committees and international heritage organizations
- active in convening as a group and disseminating informational resources among its members and the global museum community
- sustainable in its organizational structure
- achievable with its goals and objectives
- effective as a global convener, leader, and collaborator.
